Recording a group of my songs and self releasing my first solo album. Over the course of time I’ve become a bit more open to working on releasing a couple songs at a time (and not just waiting to release them all as a unit in the album format). I am nostalgic about the idea of an “album” however, so I suppose that with time and more recordings, I will eventually get there. In the interim, I feel quite good about releasing a song or two at a time, and it’s nice that the shape of the way music is shared with the world has changed and expanded so much. It’s not a requirement any longer to present your music in a specific way, box, shape or format, in order for it to be shared with the world. I like this! So as soon as I started getting the “blues” about the possible length of time that it might be before I can get an entire album recorded, printed and all the necessary elements that go in to the classic process, I realized that I can work with what I have now. And so I am not feeling any sense of defeat now, only a new and fresh outlook on the world of music and how we share it. We are only as limited as we choose to be.

A few weeks back I spent a day at Q Division studio in Somerville, MA to work on a couple songs. At the end of the day we had a few songs mixed including “Invisible Days” and “Earth Moves." The recording process will continue, and like songwriting, sometimes the best songs are born completely unplanned and unrehearsed. It was extremely fun to have a chance to be at Q for recording....not to mention the retro decor and vintage music equipment....and also the wall collage that included some bollywood photos....need i say more..

...more soon! :)
