why should i waste away my sleep?
the day opens up her eyes
i get up, walk around and breathe
mornings are sometimes hard for me
i've been resting for a while
must get used to feel of earth
underneath my feet again
like a drifter always does
be a part of everything
and i am a part of the one
i forge a tired kind of smile
i will wake up soon
and when i do
i will realize
that i was awake all the time
always something great out there
even though i am not aware
it's right inside myself
always feel that i've lost again
but through the cherry and the black
there is nothing that i lack
i am one
i have traveled not too far
seen a lot of different lives
touched and held a couple close to me
it's not always "where do i go?"
it's what i'm doing now
but i am not done
although i am one with the poetry
the paths a million souls have seen
i don't have to circle 'round the world
to know that i am one
